"My wife, Sue, and I have been attending Saul’s Djembe drumming classes for over 15 years. Thanks to Saul, African Djembe drumming has become an enjoyable and significant part of our retirement lifestyle. Every term we look forward to learning new rhythms, re-acquaint with previously learnt rhythms and meeting old friends and making new friends.

In retirement we intend to travel and will obviously miss out on the drumming classes. I therefore decided to purchase Saul’s Djembe Masterclass so we could drum along with him and maintain our drumming technique as well as learn new rhythms and solo phrases, no matter where we venture.

I was delighted to see that drummers of all ability, from beginners to advanced, are catered for in the Masterclass. Saul covers basic technique and drumming exercises, then progresses to simple and advanced rhythms including solo phrases. 

As he does in his excellent drumming classes, in the Masterclass Saul breaks down the rhythms to short, easy to follow phrases. One can clearly watch his hand technique from front on as well as from an overhead view. This is an obvious advantage, especially for beginners.

Saul has also provided notation for all the rhythms, so one can practice, even when no internet or Wifi is available.
